The day of the big ultrasound came at the beginning of April. Dad couldn't make it that day, but big sister Amanda got to come along. The verdict: it's a girl! Dad and Amanda were both VERY excited, since they had been waiting a very long time for another girl to come. The baby girl looked healthy and strong, but there was only one artery in her umbilical cord instead of two, which meant that another ultrasound was in order, with even better equipment, to make sure she was REALLY okay and staying that way. Dad got to come to that ultrasound. The baby girl still looked fine, but just to be sure, she is to be ultrasounded every four weeks until she makes her grand entrance. When the next ultrasound comes around, she'll officially be our most ultrasounded baby yet.
One of the random traditions of the Muffin family is that the Muffins are all named before they are born, usually within a few weeks of the big ultrasound. So, who is this new little Muffin girl? What will we call Amanda's long-awaited sister? She shall be called Lydia Michelle.
