Back when Lydia's next older sibling, Curtis, was born, the family had had central air installed the day before his birth. However, when Mom and Lydia got home the day after Lydia's birth, it was HOT, and the AC was not keeping up. In all the earliness of Lydia's arrival, the only appropriately sized baby girl clothes to be found were far too heavy for an 80 degree house. So, enter Lydia's brothers' old clothes to the rescue. (And thank goodness that Grandmother made a nice pink crocheted blanket, both for light cover and gender identification.) Fortunately, the AC problem was nothing worse than a clogged air filter, so by the end of the first week, Lydia was able to wear some pink.
Like most of her older siblings, Lydia did NOT approve of the bassinet during her first 24hrs home; thank goodness for swings!

However, she got used to the idea eventually.

The classic Lydia one-eye peek:

Both eyes open:

One week old to the day and finally wearing pink, which looks cute on her whether she's scrunched up or stretched out (and it's amazing how much time she spends scrunching and unscrunching):

She is SO cute! And she does look lovely in pink. =)
